"Field of Cholla" is the name of a geocache that took us about 7 minutes to find. (Cache container is in Dan's left hand and it was hidden in the cactus in his right hand). It took 10 minutes to remove the cactus from our shoes!
Another geocache took us to Elephant Butte.
The hiking club here at the RV Park plans at least 2 hikes each week. A small group of us went to the Tonto National Monument and had a guided tour of the cliff dwellings that are close to 700 years old.
Another hike took us to the Apache Tears trail where we found tiny "tears" - a form of black obsidian. To read about the legend, go to:

Spotted this tiny purple wildflower on my hike yesterday.
We hiked the Hieroglyphic Trail on a beautiful February morning in AZ.
This roof in the dwelling had to be supported by an iron pipe to help preserve it.
This Century Plant takes several decades to bloom, not a century, and then dies.
The Landmark Restaurant is located in an old Mormon Church in Mesa. One of the rooms is devoted only to salads and soups.
We spent a fun afternoon visiting Gus and Nancy. They are spending 5 months in a beautiful, well kept horse RV park.
Nancy keeps busy with water exercises 3 times a week and bridge groups twice a week. Gus keeps busy with his art group and paintings.

We went with our Canadian friends, Bev and Rob, to the famous Organ Stop Pizza here in Mesa, AZ. The mighty Wurlitzer Organ was in Denver at one time.
The menu consisted of hamburgers or hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, and wine or beer.
This is called a Mariposa Lily and is very rare. On our hike we saw 6 of them, along with a bull and a rattlesnake. Many, many beautiful wildflowers make these hikes so enjoyable.
Golfing Friends
We celebrated "Pi Day" (3/14/15) with other geocachers by going to an "event" called 3.14. It was officially Pi Day at 9:26 and 53 seconds. (This happens once every 100 years) It's always fun to get together with fellow cachers and exchange stories.
We went to the Arizona Opry with our friends Clara and Jim. Notice the size of the saxophone being played was 6 or 7 feet tall! Good friends, good food, and good music = a fun evening.
These placemats are for the grandsons to use while setting the table.
These boots are at the entrance to where Gus and Nancy spend their winters at Rancho Sin Nieve (Ranch of no snow) near Wickenburg, AZ. The owners take great pride in keeping up the grounds. Many horse owners winter here and compete in barrel racing their horses in AZ.
Breakfast here at this old west cafe. It had a western decor and delicious food.
Unique cactus pictures from RV Park.
Pickle Ball and Geocaching friends from the RV Resort.
Our Pickle Ball equipment and bag for transporting them to the court.

The RV Resort goes all out decorating for special events. They had a BBQ with live Country Western music for all of the guests. Can you tell what the theme was?
We decided to stay on this side of the barbed wire fence.
Sewing Projects
We met Gus here at the Celebration of Fine Art. To our surprise one of the artists, Whitney Hall, was from Bozeman, MT, where cousin Sharon lives. AND, after talking with her, we learned that Sharon has been to her studio for sessions. Small world!
This is a pin cushion cactus. Notice the tiny red "pins."
Gus spends Tuesdays here with other local artists. While Dan golfed, Gus and Nancy gave me a tour of Wickenburg.
John and his dog Ginger are enjoying the warm AZ sunshine. Every morning the dog park is a gathering place for dogs and their owners. There is always a lively conversation between owners and play time, ball catching and chase for the dogs. I learned how to play the card game "hand and foot" with John and his wife Barbara, a delightful couple from Ohio.
Found on a window in the RV park.
