Colorful Colorado
Our first stop in Colorado was in Cortez in the western part of the state. This beautiful tree was across the street from the RV park.
Spruce Tree House is the 3rd largest and best preserved cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park.
Lunch in Ridgway and a short walk to find a cache. Our goal is to find a geocache in every county in Colorado this year.

Friends Paula and Dick took us on a tour of Cortez and then out to have Chinese. After dinner we showed them how to geocache. "Clean Hide" at the local Car Wash as where the GPS took us. Even though it was dark, we were able to spot it hanging in a bush at GZ.
This geometric design, "dado" or pictograph was on one of the walls.
We took a self guided tour and learned some of the RR history of Ouray County.
This jail wagon was used in the movie True Grit and was filmed in Ridgway.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
According to the NP brochure this canyon was named black because it is so deep, so sheer, and so narrow that very little sunlight can penetrate it.
Many towns have murals depicting life in earlier times. This one shows what Hotchkiss looked like in 1925.
We are waiting until weather conditions improve before leaving Montrose.
Moffet County encompasses over 3 million acres 2/3 of it being public land. We found a geocache in this north western county of Colorado.
This geocache was found inside this birdhouse, made specifically to house a cache.
While in Moffat County, we drove to Maybell Town Park to find a geocache. It happened to be hidden close to the shower building that Dan and his fishing buddies used before returning home from fishing on the Green River in Utah.A geocache here at the Battlement Creek Fire Memorial.

On the 25th I attended a CITO 2015 on the River.
My name was drawn for the CITO coin.
These candles are going on the float the Canyon Land Walkers and Hikers made for the May Blossom Festival. The float took 1st Place!
BrothersBrother Carl flew in from Ohio to attend the funeral of David Eckersley, who died on April 30, 2015. An impressive memorial service was held at Ft. Logan and then a Celebration of Life followed at his church.
Sara is fascinated with the chicks at Zac's house.
Sara enjoys the hunt also.
SCORE! Grandson Noah (back to the camera) scored his first goal right in front of where we were watching the game!
We purchased our equipment while in AZ and rode our bikes to the courts which were just 2 blocks from the RV. While there we played early in the day and later in the evening.
HOOPING
This is a popular sport at another RV resort in AZ. Hooping is great for a strong core.
