Bozeman cousins, Sharon and Ralph, have been our golfing, walking, touring, cooking, eating, drinking, card playing, remembering buddies this last week.
Backyard visitor
The museum has a nice selection of hats.
Cliff Davis, called the Great Birdman of Montana, was an artist, teacher, and scholar. He could recognize the wings, whistles, and eggs of all the songbirds in the state.
The museum is home for these birds that Cliff carved.
Dinner at a local Korean restaurant right on campus. Finally, Dan found "Bip in Bop" a favorite dish that he often ate while working in Evanston, Illinois. Delicious!
After leaving Bozeman, we went to see Dan's sister, Mary.
Mary has a new toy! This gadget attaches to an electric drill and makes hole digging for planting bulbs so easy.
Planting the bulbs.
Nancy encouraged us to go to this museum in Big Horn.
Since we were the only visitors at the Museum, we had our own private tour. This stop is a must for history and art lovers. The Brinton collection features over 600 oils, watercolors, sketches, and sculptures by American artists including: Audubon, Borein, Remington, Russell and others.
Sharon made us an apple pie using organic apples from their tree. YUM
Beautiful Bozeman sunset.
Let us out! The Pioneer Museum in downtown Bozeman used to be a jail.
Remember these records?
This is an example of his wood carving.
Michelle Smith, who lives in Missoula, MT, stopped on her way to Cody. She is Sharon's daughter-in-law. What fun to hear stories about her two children. Grandchildren are the best! Just ask Sharon and Karen.
Careful, don't spill the Tuaca!
Enjoying Tuaca and playing cards.
I love seeing all of Sharon’s art hanging in her house and studio. Here is a sample of a sunflower she painted a year ago. This year her poppies and larger sunflower pictures do not include a frame. She is showing some of her work in local coffee shops.
After attending a community dinner in Joilet, MT, we stopped at a farm to buy some produce. Mary found a colorful gourd.
Digging
Time to empty the water from the rain barrels. Mary has a pump that is put into the barrel and hooked up to the hose to send the water to the garden.
On our way home we stopped in Sheridan to see our friends Jim and Nancy
After having a yummy Mexican lunch with Nancy and Jim Mickelson, they took us on a short ride to Big Horn, WY, which is southwest of Sheridan. Beautiful fall colors! An ice cream cone at the local Mercantile topped off a delightful afternoon spent with friends.
Noah's Birthday Party
Noah turns 4 this year!
Zac and Jennie attended the party.
Grandpa had fun modeling a hat that Noah received for his birthday.
Decorating a T shirt was a fun activity for the birthday kid and his friends.
